Summer
Crookwell can be hot as well as cold (the garden has an excellent supply of bore water for those dry years), but summer also has its special moments – bees and tiny white moths swarm over lavender entwined with white clematis, and blue campanula and pure white shastas mix with yellow oenothera, salvias, the ethereal seed heads of grasses and pale pink heads of sedum.
One of the garden’s most-loved shrubs, the oak leaf hydrangea, is smothered with elegant racemes of pure white, and mature deciduous trees cast wonderful shadows over cool green lawns.
